Farmers’ subsidies, stated in the No. 1 Central Document of 2023

In the past, due to low labor efficiency and high risk of natural disasters, many farmers had to go out to work and give up farming. However, now, in order to encourage farmers to actively farm, the country has introduced a series of policies to benefit and strengthen agriculture. This can be said to be the welfare of our farmers, and several of them are subsidy "money".

1. Rice subsidies

In order to encourage farmers to actively farm, reduce farmers’ risks in growing grain, and increase farmers’ chances of making money growing grain, the No. 1 Central Document of 2023 clearly stipulates : Raise the minimum purchase price of wheat, reasonably determine the minimum purchase price of rice, stabilize rice subsidies, and expand the scope of full cost insurance and planting income insurance for rice, wheat, and corn.

2. Corn and soybean production subsidies

Corn and soybeans are the main food crops. Carrying out soybean and corn strip compound planting is conducive to the efficient use of cultivated land and encourages the planting of corn and soybeans to improve my country’s corn and soybean production. The document also makes it clear: It is necessary to improve subsidies for corn and soybean producers and implement pilot programs for soybean full cost insurance and planting income insurance.

3. Agricultural machinery purchase and application subsidies

In order to accelerate the development of agricultural modernization, increase agricultural machinery coverage, improve agricultural production efficiency, and minimize farmers’ land farming costs, the 2023 Central Committee Document No. 1 pointed out: It is necessary to improve the subsidy policy for the purchase and application of agricultural machinery, and to explore subsidy methods linked to the workload.
